THE PROCESS

Piling Solutions

We will work to the structural engineer design and calculations for your project which will determine the pile size and quantity and an individual load per pile, to ensure that the structure is correctly supported.

The pile positions are marked out and each helical screw pile is then installed with a digger mounted or hand-held torque head. During installation a gauge constantly measures and monitors the resistance; our installation team will use these readings to reach the required load for each individual pile. The piled suspended steel ring beams finished installation level is slightly above the ground.

Each pile is then topped with a flat plate termination which will accommodate the steel or timber ring beams. Timber ring beams will support a timber floor and steel ring beams will support a timber or block and beam floor in preparation for the super structure.

The readings during installation are logged and this forms the pile log that we provide you with which confirms that the piles have been installed to the structural engineers plans and calculations, buildings regulations will require this.

THE ADVANTAGES

The advantages are many; installation is rapid, there is no waiting for the concrete to cure as this piling system is ready to be built on immediately.

There is no excavation required, and our handheld installation option allows for installation in small spaces or sites with limited access.

There is little noise or ground disturbance and can be installed into most ground types.

Screw piles are extremely shrub and tree friendly as the slender shaft causes virtually no damage to the root systems and as such are highly recommended by arboriculturists.

We offer different sized piles to suit your required loadings making screw piles ideal for various sized projects.
